I was lucky enough to get to attend this year's Golden State of Cocktails down in San Diego for two days of learning, absorbing, and of course consuming every last drop of information from today's most progressive leaders in the cocktail industry. Gearing up for the big show in LA this January, Golden State worked with some of the cocktail commanders of the San Diego area bar scene to shed some light on the amazing things they are stirring up down there. With everything from brainstorms on water conservation behind the bar, to lessons on staying healthy to promote longevity within this brutal industry, this truly was a show run by bartenders for bartenders with every angle in mind. And when I say "bartender" I do not mean your local night owl's who know how to shake, pour, and stir - these guys (and girls) are the next Emril Lagases' of our generation. They are the entrepreneurs, the social curators, the tastemakers, and in my eyes the gatekeepers, to future of hospitality.
